How Tilt-and-Load Deliveries Work at Fab-Con

How Tilt-and-Load Deliveries Work at Fab-Con (And How to Prepare Your Site)

At Fab-Con, tilt-and-load delivery is our most common method for placing shipping containers safely and efficiently. With proper site preparation, this process allows containers to be delivered without the need for cranes or forklifts.

How the Process Works

Our tilt-and-load trucks use a hydraulic bed and winch system to offload the container directly from the rear of the truck. The driver aligns the truck in a straight line, tilts the deck, and carefully lowers the container into position.

What Your Site Needs

To ensure a smooth Fab-Con delivery, please make sure your site has:

  • Clear access in and out, free of overhead or ground obstructions

  • Straight-line unloading space (approx. 60–70 ft for 20ft units, 120 ft for 40ft units)

  • Level, stable ground such as concrete, asphalt, gravel, or compacted soil

  • A clear drop zone with no materials, equipment, or personnel

Common Delivery Issues

Delays are typically caused by limited space, poor ground conditions, unexpected obstructions, or weather impacts. Sharing accurate site details in advance helps avoid these issues.

Final Note

Proper site preparation helps Fab-Con complete deliveries safely, on time, and with minimal disruption. If you’re unsure whether your site is suitable for tilt-and-load delivery, our team can review access details ahead of scheduling.
